Having fun with textures

I have been playing some textures and combined them with some of my brushes and am quite pleased with my first attempt I must say. I can see this getting quite addictive. I’m on the hunt now to create my own textures! Here’s what I did yesterday.

What’s in a name

I’ve changed my mind. As a woman I think I am entitled to. .

Kaleidoscope Images doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue that easily so I have decided to change my business name to “Marieke B”. It’s my own name so I won’t tire of it easily either. So here we are with a new name and a new blog. I’ve incorporated the ‘old’ (all of two weeks) blog into this one.

I’m almost done editing Beth’s session from a couple of weeks ago. I think I may have fallen in love with her, she is just so cute! Just a wee bit more patience mom and dad, her gallery will be available soon. School holidays sure got in the way of my computer time! Back to the daily grind on Monday.

Sweet Beth

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Beth just over a week ago. She was such a cutie! And a really good sport too. She arrived around the time that she normally goes down for a nap and she was teething to boot but she took it all in her stride and I got some wonderful personality shots. In a lot of the photos she’s trying out her new top teeth for size and grinding her top and bottom teeth together. Her parents told me this is her latest favourite activity…

The light was challenging for this session but we managed as best we could. I cannot wait to shoot her again, hopefully soon, in her own environment. Here’s a little peek of  this gorgeous girl!
